Scaling a Recipe and Buying Whole Packets

Escalar uma Receita e Comprar Pacotes Inteiros

A recipe for 44 people uses 300300 g of rice and 500500 ml of stock. A cook prepares the same dish for 1010 people, keeping every ingredient in the same ratio. Rice is sold only in packets of 500500 g. How much rice and stock are needed, and how many packets of rice must be bought?

Find the single number that turns a portion for four into a portion for ten, and apply it to both ingredients. The packet question is not answered by that number alone — packets do not come in pieces.
