    Reading a Pictogram

    Ler um Pictograma

A pictogram shows the ice creams sold at a kiosk. Each full symbol stands for 66 ice creams and half a symbol stands for half of that. Tuesday's row has 44 full symbols and one half symbol. Wednesday's row has 55 full symbols. How many more ice creams were sold on Wednesday than on Tuesday?

Turn each row into a number of ice creams first, remembering what half a symbol is worth, and only then compare the two days.

    Solution

    Step 1 of 4

    1. 1.Tuesday: 4×6+3=24+3=274 \times 6 + 3 = 24 + 3 = 27 ice creams.
