    Average Speed over Two Stretches

    A car travels 6060 km of motorway at 9090 km/h and then 4040 km of national road at 4040 km/h. What is the average speed for the whole journey?

    Average speed is total distance divided by total time, so the two times have to be found separately first. Averaging the two speeds is not the same thing.
