    Quadratic Formula

    Fórmula Resolvente

    Solve using the quadratic formula: 2x^2 - 3x - 5 = 0.

    x = \dfrac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac}}{2a}. Read a, b and c off the equation before you substitute.

    Solution

    Step 1 of 4

    1. 1.\Delta = (-3)^2 - 4(2)(-5) = 9 + 40 = 49
