    Solving a Logarithmic Equation

    Resolver uma Equação Logarítmica

    Solve log⁡2(x)+log⁡2(x−2)=3\log_{2}(x) + \log_{2}(x - 2) = 3 in R\mathbb{R}.

A sum of logarithms with the same base can be rewritten as a single logarithm. Before you solve anything, work out which values of xx the original equation even allows — that condition is what settles the answer at the end.

    Solution

    Step 1 of 6

    1. 1.Domain: x>0x > 0 and x−2>0x - 2 > 0, so x>2x > 2.
